LSCS announce release of synthetic data creation package ‘synthpop’

Longitudinal Studies Centre Scotland (LSCS) are pleased to announce the release of the first version of the R package ‘synthpop’ for generating synthetic versions of sensitive microdata for statistical disclosure control. The package and a vignette with a worked example are available from the CRAN at

The ‘synthpop’ package is under continual development so please contact us if you encounter any problem. The team would also welcome any suggestions for improving the current version – removing some limitations or adding new features.
